FIELDS OF INTEREST:

  • Peacekeeping and Postwar State-building:  Post-conflict reconstruction; security/development nexus; human security; humanitarian interventions; R2P
  • Geopolitics and International Security:  NATO; EU foreign, development & security policy
  • Global Governance:  International organizations and regulatory regimes; relationship to civil society and democracy
  • General foreign policy analysis: Canadian foreign policy; EU foreign policy; transatlantic relations

Research Methods: mixed-method approaches.

          

        

I am currently involved in the following (broad) research projects:

  1. The terrorism-development nexus
  2. Female representation in fragile states and impact on failed states raking
  3. The whole of government approach in Afghanistan in comparative perspective: Canada, Germany,  UK, and US in comparison.
  4. How the Afghan mission was framed in Canadian and US media
  5. EU’s civilian and military operations in Africa: the evolution of security culture(s)
  6. How to strengthen resilience in fragile states
